Mossoleum (moss·uh·lee·uhm) is a combination of miniatures and storytelling. These artistic petite panoramas, a sculptural spin on dioramas, allow you to bring a beautiful scenic vista into your life. These dioramas are care-free and have eternal life.
Each piece is hand crafted with love in Brooklyn, New York, in a workshop studio that is a veritable cabinet of curiosities. New works are created on commission or on a whim. Progress photos are shared to my Instagram. If you see something you love, slide into my DMs and snag it. Many creations become available for purchase on Etsy. Custom commissions are always welcome!
Who am I? Hi, I’m Katy. You may remember me as the creative miniature force behind Twig Terrariums, where I crafted the miniature scenes of countless terrariums for over ten years. Now it’s 2020 and I’m very excited to focus on my art and create dioramas – whether on a whim or on commission. I am calling this venture Mossoleum because I love cemeteries, mosses and plants, and tons of wordplay.
My achievements and artistic creations have been featured in The New York Times, Entrepreneur Magazine, Real Simple, Wall Street Journal, NPR, and more. I co-authored Tiny World Terrariums from STC Craft & Abrams Books, 2012. I was a Featured Artist at the Museum of Art & Design for their Otherworldly exhibit, as well as Guest Artist at the American Folk Art Museum. I have conducted workshops with New York University, The New York Botanic Garden, Brooklyn Botanic Garden Continuing Ed, New York Horticultural Society, and all around the country.
